Winter 2017-2018 Favorites

I asked, you guys answered, and now I am giving you what you want! Today that is a blog post sharing all of my seasonal favorites! A little while back I asked if you guys liked reading my monthly favorites on my blog, and you answered “yes”! I then followed it up with asking if you would prefer seasonal favorites as well, or one over the other. Again, most of you responded that you wanted both! So, here we are!

I believe I made a “Fall Favorites” post, which I’ll link here, so this isn’t the first seasonal favorite post but I’m excited to officially make it part of my content on this blog! I’ll be sharing some things I mentioned in my monthly favorites, products I talk about on Instagram, and things you haven’t heard me share quite yet!

Winter 2017-2018 Favorites

FOOD

POW Pasta. Comfort foods seem to be a favorite for everyone in the winter, and I totally see why. It’s cold and gloomy outside and you just want to be well, comfortable. I’m always on the search for healthier options, especially options that do good for my body instead of making it hurt. Eat Banza or Pow pasta have been my go-to comfort food this winter. It’s packed with protein and filled with just one ingredient, lentils or chickpeas! I can’t ask for much more than that!

go macro bars. You should know my love for these bars already. They don’t have a ton of sh*t in them and are made from real food. Plus they taste like a candy bar so I can’t complain. They are my favorite snack for on the go!

Avocado oil. In the last several months I have become obsessed with avocado oil. I used to be an olive oil user (there’s nothing wrong with it) but I’ve been loving this switch! It’s so tasty and adds healthy fats into your meals!

Coconut oil. When is coconut oil not on my favorites list(s)? It’s so versatile and I’ve been using it for everything lately. Snacks, in my coffee, and even in my hair. Click this link to find out how I use it as a beauty product!

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Zinc cough drops. Zinc is very important when it comes to keeping our bodies above the wellness line. I like to keep these on hand all year round, specifically for winter, to help keep my healthy. Whenever I’m feeling like a cold coming on, I pop in one of these and feel instantly better.

*Thieves essential oil. Another winter wellness staple! You know how much I love essential oils! Instead of using chemical filled, nasty Clorox wipes or Lysol, I use Thieves essential oil! Diffusing it can support your immune system, as well as making tea with it (DO NOT INGEST IF IT IS NOT 100% PURE ESSENTIAL OIL OR FROM A REPUTABLE SOURCE).

SKINCARE

Jade rolling. I wrote a whole blog post on Jade rolling which you can read here. I received this back in January and while I don’t do it enough to see drastic changes, it feels amazing. It de-puffs my face and gives me a complex a silky shine to it!

Make-up free face. This isn’t a product or brand but it’s still a fave! I love wearing no make-up. In fact I’ve only worn make-up a total of 3x times in the several months. It feels SO good!

Dry brushing. Again, I shared this before and I plan on making a blog post all about the benefits of dry brushing but for now, google it. Go buy yourself one and give your body some love!

SELF CARE

Woman Code by Alissa Vitti. I can’t stop recommending this book! LADIES- if you want to take control of your life, this book is for you! While reading this I have gained a new appreciate for my body and what it can do. It has taught me that I have the power to create my health.

Epsom salt. THESE. Every time I go into the bath a cup of Epsom salts go in with me. Epsom salt is high in magnesium which is great for all sorts of things like releasing stress and anxiety, improves sleep, and helps with proper elimination just to name a few. I love adding essential oils to it to boost its’ benefits.

Hot baths. I just realized these three Self Care faves all go hand in hand. Whenever I take a bath I use my Epsom salt and read my book. Staying warm in Montana during the winter seems impossible so a bath at least 1x a week is needed to keep me sane.

MINDFULNESS

Journaling. I don’t think this will never not be on my favorites. Journaling has changed my life drastically and I do it every day, sometimes multiple times a day. It allows me to get my thoughts out of my head and in front of me. It’s how I process and work through my sh*t.

Meditation. Again, when is this not a fave or mine?! This goes along with what I just discussed above. Try it. That’s all.

SPIRITUAL

Moon journals. I briefly discussed my Moon journals with you before and you seem them often on my Instagram. They may seem “woo woo” to some but they have taught me so much about how the phases of the Moon truly effects each and every one of us. Using these books as a guide to allow me to dive deeper into all things astrological and spiritual.
