February 2018 Favorites

Hey babes! Happy March 1st! Can you believe we are already in the third month of 2018?! Crazy! I know I have said this at least 20x before but as I get older I feel the time flying by faster and faster. January felt like it went on forever where February came and gone with a blink of an eye! I’m most excited for this new month because March means one thing and one thing only, SPRING IS NEAR. Spring may take a little longer to reach Montana, but I will be here anxiously waiting for its arrival.

It’s also a Full Moon today! I know I haven’t talked much about the phases of the Moon on my blog, but I have lots to say about it on Instagram! However, I would be more than happy to write a post all about the Moon phases or energies of New and Full Moons, so let me know!

But enough rambling and let’s get into this post!

You all probably know by now the beginning of a new month means a new blog post sharing all of my favorites from the previous month! To be honest, I debated writing this because sometimes I feel like I am too much of a creature of habit to share my current favorites. But you guys seem to really enjoy reading them, so I decided why not!

February 2018 Favorites

Sweet peppers. One of my current food favorites are sweet peppers! So random but soooo good. They are the perfect snack when paired with hummus or completely by themselves! I also enjoy adding them to my salads for an extra something sweet and added crunch.

Peanut butter. You’re probably thinking “what?” but hear me out. I go through phases with different foods. I will eat a specific type of food until I get sick of it and won’t eat again for months. Although I am trying to break that habit, peanut butter is one of those foods. It’s always a simple snack you can always count on. Plus, this Smucker’s pb is the real deal. No artificial anything, just peanuts!

Activated charcoal. You’ve probably seen a lot of other wellness bloggers talk about this supplement. I never really understood it until recently and now I always have it on hand. Activated charcoal is amazing for when you need a little extra push for cleaning out your body. This is NOT a detox pill or shouldn’t be taken on a regular basis. As always, contact a medical professional before you take it. I personally use it for when I accidentally ingest gluten or dairy since I am allergic to them. It also comes in handy when I have one too many glasses of wine. I take two capsules with a large glass of water before bed and I’m as good as new the next day! (Do not take activated charcoal with other vitamins or food. It won’t allow your body to absorb the nutrients it needs. Always read the label to see how it should be taken). This is also a great way to whiten teeth! Simply add t to your tooth paste and brush…be careful, it’s messy!

Zinc cough drops. These things have been a life saver during the winter months. Zinc is known for its powerful ability to fight off an oncoming cold or flu. When I start to feel like I am getting sick, or if I’m already sick, I pop one of these in my mouth and I’m usually good to go! Research Zinc and the benefits of it before supplementing with it!

Woman Code. I always love a good book and this one by Alissa Vitti has been my go to lately. I used to cycle sync (syncing your period with foods, exercise, social events, etc.) months ago and it just wasn’t for me. I decided to give it a try, so I am reading the book and learning so much! This book talks all about women’s hormonal health and spreads great awareness to this taboo topic!
