Hey babes! This is the last post for the month of February, can ya believe it?! It felt like January went by extremely fast but also felt like it was dragging on at the same time. February seems to always zoom by us (maybe because it is actually a shorter month). I am totally okay with that though because March means warmer weather is near and we all know how much I love sunshine! Sadly, Montana winters don’t usually get here until late April. So, I will be cooped up inside just a little longer!
Today on the blog I thought it would fun to share my morning routine with you guys! I typically keep my mornings private and to myself because they are very sacred to me, but I thought it would be cool to give you a peek into how I start every day.
It took me almost a year to get in the habit of craving and actually feeling the need for a morning routine, but I don’t know what I would do without it now! I’m also sharing this part of my life with you because I have come to learn just how important morning routines and rituals are! They set the tone for your day and allows you to tap into what you’re feeling inside of your body, both mentally and physical. And ya’ll know I LOVE being in tune with my body. So, before I ramble any longer, let’s jump right in!
MY (week day) MORNING ROUTINE + RITUALS
Each morning for me starts the same. I wake up extremely early (morning person over here!) and have simple rituals that have become so powerful. This routine and the rituals I hold close to me are what set myself and day up for complete and total happiness.
My alarm goes off at 5 o’clock a.m. every morning during the week. I’m not one to usually snooze an alarm unless I’m reeeally tired.
Once I’m somewhat alert and functioning I head to the bathroom and blow my nose- this sounds so silly, but it is a MUST. My nose is always so stuffy when I wake up. (Also, I cannot do anything else until I go pee, lol. May be TMI but hey, it’s the truth)!
I then head to the kitchen where I heat up some water on the stove with my tea kettle. I use this to make my hot lemon water every morning (I like to use half boiling water and half room temperature water with ¼ of a lemon slice).
I grab my lemon water and phone and then head up to the loft where my office/zen den is to meditate. I meditate for a total of 5-10 minutes every morning. After I am finished meditating I like to journal and refer back to any goals or intentions I set for myself.
Once I’m finished journaling I burn sage and stretch my body out. While I move my body I love to play the song “” by, . It is a song for protection and it is an essential part of my morning ritual. It also is a good timer because the song is ten minutes long so I know I’m getting at least ten minutes of stretching in!
Once I’m done all that, I tune in with my spirit guides and ask them for protection, love, light, and happiness for myself and loved ones. If I’m going through something in that moment I also ask for extra guidance.
By the time I am finished my morning rituals it’s close to 6 a.m.. This is when I take my phone off of airplane mode and make my coffee.
Once I make my coffee, I’ll grab something small to eat, take my vitamins, and spend about 30 minutes scrolling through my phone.
Afterwards, I head back to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I haven’t been wearing make-up lately (other than a little mascara) so it doesn’t take me long to get ready. I can typically be ready in twenty minutes depending how dirty my hair is, lol (I only wash it 1x a week)!
I then head to my closet to try and find an outfit to wear for the day. Ladies, you know how long this can take sometimes.
By this time, I’m just about ready to head out the door. I pack up any last-minute things I may need for the day, fill my hydro flask with water, and grab some snacks for later! And by 7:40 a.m. I am out the door!
