A few weeks back I shared a post on all things vitamins and supplements, if you didn’t get a chance to read it, click here. I discussed what they are, why you should take them, and the difference between the two. Today, I am piggy backing off of that post and sharing my own vitamin and supplements regimen!
I share a lot of my daily routine on Instagram and have been getting a ton of questions about what I take, why I take it, and do I notice anything different. It is much easier for me to write a blog post about it that way it is easy to refer to and is a quick reference guide!
*Please note, this post is dedicated to the vitamins and supplements for ME and MY body. I am in any way not telling you this is what you have to take. Contact a medical professional or your primary care doctor to find out what is best for you.
My Vitamin & Supplement Routine
IN THE MORNING-
Young Living’s Digest & Cleanse. This is a blend of essential oils that help support and promote a healthy digestive system. You can take it up to 3x a day (or an hour before every meal). I only take it 1x a day, right when I wake up 1 hour before I have my coffee and breakfast. It leaves a cool peppermint feeling in your gut/back of your throat which doubles as fresh breath!
(Care/of packet of vitamins)
I wrote an entire blog post about care/of vitamins if you are curious.
Vitamin D + Calcium. These are three pills that I take every day in the winter to support the lack of Vitamin D I’m receiving living in the North West. It is hard to tell if there is a difference, however, it has been recommended to take if you live in this area.
Vitamin C. This one is pretty self-explanatory. I want my immune system to be functioning at its optimal level so having sufficient Vitamin C is important to me. Your body also needs Vitamin C to absorb other important vitamins.
B Complex. This helps support mood and energy levels. It is especially important to have when you are on your period as your B vitamins are usually lacking at this time.
Rhodiola. I like to take this one to help deal with stress and to support my mood.
Evening Primrose. Evening Primrose is great to help support your skin. As you may know, I am prone to perioral dermatitis so doing what I can to have healthy skin is key.
Nature’s Bounty Probiotic. Gut health. Need I say more? It is soooo important to have healthy bacteria in the gut.
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. I have a post allllll about collagen if you wanna give that a read, here. I like to put 1 scoop of collagen peptides in my coffee every morning. Not only does it give me some added protein but it also makes the coffee les acidic on my gut AND actually heals my gut!
IN THE EVENING-
Magnesium. This also in my Care/of packet but I like to take it at night before bed. It helps with my anxiety and gives me a better night’s sleep. Magnesium can become depleted in our bodies from too much coffee or alcohol.
The vitamins and supplements mentioned above are those I take daily. However, when I’m feeling under the weather, wanting more protein, or need additional dietary support, there are a few others I have in hand…
Aloha protein powder
Echinacea + zinc lozenges
