A Year of Favorites

The New Year is a great time to reflect on everything in your life including the people you’ve met, the places you’ve gone, the food you loved, brands you’ve grown to like and trust, and just your over-all self. With that said, I decided to reflect on some of my most favorite things from the year of 2017 and I want to share them with you!

There were many things I loved in 2017 but this blog post would be never ending if I listed everything. So, I gathered what really stood out to me, things that were non-negotiables in my day to day life, and put them in a blog post for you guys!

2017 Favorites

Meditation. In 2017 meditation quickly became a favorite part of my day and morning routine. I fell in love early spring and got to end the year by getting certified as a Meditation Teacher. Having this practice has truly transformed myself and my life in the best way possible.

Journaling. Another daily habit I formed in addition to meditation. I rarely go a day without journaling when just over a year ago I was horrible at doing it. This is another practice that has changed my life for the better.

Essential Oils. I’ve been using essential oils for a little while now but I think this last year I really fell in love with them. In 2017 I went about 90% toxic free and having essential oils on hand helped me out tremendously.

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. Last year was also the year of healing my gut, and while I am still working on it, collagen has been a game changer. It was the first animal product I introduced back into my diet after being vegan for a year or so and it has shown remarkable results.

Care/of Continuing the supplement pattern, this brand is amazing. All of the vitamins I could ever need delivered right to my door step? YES PLEASE. Read here for more info.

Cora tampons. Part of going toxic free, for me, meant what I am using when it’s that time of month. This brand is a tampon subscription that uses only organic cotton in their tampons and for every box you purchase they give back to women in need. I wrote a blog post all about it!

Simple Mills. My cabinets are never not stocked with Simple Mills. From baking mixes, pizza dough, crackers, and cookies, this brand knows ingredients.

Eating Evolved. Only the best chocolate ever! Sweet, simple, and satisfies that chocolate craving but without all the junk!

Coconut oil. I put this in the food category because well, it’s a food but I rarely use it to cook with. I like to use it in my hair and skin. 2017 was most definitely the year of coconut oil for me.

Avocado oil. However, this oil, I DO cook with and LOVE it. It has a high burn temp so it keeps all of those nutrients locked in when you cook with it!

Kite Hill. This brand answers all of my dairy free prayers. I always have their cream cheese and yogurt in my fridge.

Kombucha. Need I say more? ‘BUCH 2017.

Having a routine/rituals. This one is pretty random but it has been very important to me in the last year. Developing a morning routine and having rituals have made my days a lot calmer and my mind a lot less chaotic.

Podcasts. I feel like everyone and their moms made a podcast this year but it’s cool because I enjoy listening to them!

Cocokind. Last, but most certainly NOT least. I live for this brand. Natural beauty and skincare for a great price and even better results. Definitely a staple in my bathroom.
