There’s something about curling up with your cup of coffee (or tea) and a nice warm bowl of thick rice cereal…DROOL. And today I am sharing with you guys my 2, yes 2 (!!), go-to cream of rice recipes! I have a classic dish I love to make and it never fails me and I also have one for those mornings when I’m craving something chocolate-y!
These recipes are both simple, nourishing, but also really delicious! Enjoy!
Superfood Banana Berry
Cream of Rice
*makes 1 serving*
¼ cup gluten free rice farina hot cereal (I use Bob Red’s Mill)
¾ cup of (unsweetened) vanilla almond milk
Pinch of salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ of a banana, sliced
Small handful of blueberries
1 teaspoon of Philosophie GreenBee honey
A sprinkle of flax seeds
On a stove top, over medium heat, add your rice farina, almond milk, salt, and cinnamon (and cacao powder if making the second option) to a medium sauce pan.
Let it simmer while occasionally stirring until mixture becomes thick.
Once the cream of rice gets nice and thick and creamy, pour into a bowl and top with the recommended toppings!
