May 2017 Favorites

I am currently sitting here, in my living room, typing this post and thinking to myself, “how is it already June?!”. Is anyone else asking themselves this same question??? As I get older I feel like time is just flying by. With that said, it is that time again for another ‘favorites’ blog post!

I spent the last few days gathering all the things I have been loving this last month and as always, I can’t wait to share them with ya’ll! I notice as each month passes the products I am using are becoming much more simple, the foods I am eating are more nourishing, and anything else I am incorporating into my life only adds value to it. And that makes my heart happy. I mean who doesn’t want a more simple, nourishing life?

In this post I am going to be sharing a lot of natural remedies that I have been loving, self-care essentials, and of course some food!

May 2017 Favorites

*Lavender essential oil. If you know me/follow me then you know within the last year I have become obsessed with essential oils. I only use Young Living Essential Oils and they have drastically changed my life. I have been using Lavender A LOT this last month to help soothe a rash I developed on my skin. I also love using Lavender in my diffuser at night to help me sleep!

*Tea Tree essential oil. I like to pair this eo with Lavender to help treat and heal my skin. Tea Tree oil (if 100% pure and real) is very antiseptic and can be used in so many ways!

*R.C. essential oil. Again, this is another Young Living Essential Oil that I love. It is a blend of several different oils and is great for respiratory support. Since moving to Montana, I have developed allergies and the air is really dry here. I put a drop or 2 in some coconut oil and rub it on my chest at night before bed.

My journal. I have been journaling since 2014 but in the last 5-6 months I have become an avid journal-er. I journal at least 1x a day, if not more. Journaling has helped me in so many ways and I truly believe everyone can benefit from it. I write basically everything in here from my daily gratitude to my intentions for the week and month.

Plants. Ahhh, plants. they seem to be so trendy lately. Me, personally, I have loved plants for a little while now but since I finally own my own home I can actually buy an abundance of them and make my house look like a jungle. And this last month I did just that. In the last month I have accumulated 14 house plants and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. House plants can be so nourishing and purifying to your home!

My planner. I’m a planner QUEEN. I use to have like 85634 different ones for EVERYTHING. Now, I just have this little guy and I’m obsessed with it. it’s nothing special or not a brand name planner that costs $80, I found it at Target. I love it because each day is broken down to the hour, there’s room for notes, and there is a full calendar for each month! My O.C.D. self is happy.

Simple Mills chocolate chip cookies. TO DIE FOR. I love sweets, you guys know that. But I love the sweets that I can eat without feeling like crap. These cookies allow me to indulge but without suffering from a bloated sugar filled belly! They are made with REAL ingredients and are so so nourishing.

Apple Cider Vinegar Facial Spray. ACV has been my go-to for the last 5-6 months. I drink it every morning and I now wash my face with it! As I mentioned, I got a horrible rash on my face and this seems to be the only way to put the rash at ease! I fill a 2oz amber glass bottle about 1/3-1/2 way with ACV and then the rest with water, shake, spray it on a cotton pad, and wipe my face! It smells bad but does the trick!

Coconut oil. We all know how wonderful coconut oil is! Not only do I use this a lot to help dilute my essential oils but I use this as my face moisturizer. I place about a tablespoon in a travel size container and add whatever essential oils my skin is needing at the moment.

*DISCLAIMER* Essential oils do not treat, prevent, cure, or heal any illnesses and you shouldn’t use them in replace of a prescribed medication. Always talk with your physician before using essential oils.
